Hi guys, Aurielle Sayeh here! I am really “lucky” to have been able to collaborate with Lucky Brand guiding you through an afternoon of my ideal day in my former home city of Los Angeles. I also got to wear a few of my favorite pieces from Lucky’s Spring collection. People normally see me as a streetwear, “Hypebeast” kind of girl so this was so much fun because I really love dressing classy and contemporary with my own touches—that being my sneakers, crazy nails, or gold accessories. As a DJ & Creative Director living between Europe and America, I am always on the go and trying new things as far as style goes. As a woman juggling building her personal life, future, and career in her early 30s I am always trying to refine my style to a place that is age appropriate as well as fashion-forward, comfortable, classic, and still a reflection of myself.

Fairfax & Melrose has been one of my favorite spots since before I moved to Europe and before Instagram was a thing. When I was younger and living in L.A. I had been modeling for OG streetwear brands like The Hundreds and hanging out with kids from Diamond Supply on Fairfax. It was the beginning of our generation's wave of including women in streetwear, giving off the sexy tomboy, girl-next-door vibe. I love how the palm trees surround the area, and you’re really close to The Grove. I love seeing movies there, or going to Barnes & Nobles to check out books or grab a latte. I also love the old 70’s diner decor of the infamous Canter’s Deli. When you enter halfway, you feel like you’re in a bad slasher horror movie or in the ‘70s. Fairfax & Melrose offers so many amazing shopping options from Wasteland (with their amazing selection of vintage to gently used designer finds), and other streetwear heroes like Supreme, RIPNDIP, UNDEFEATED and re-opening this weekend, BAPE. I feel the pieces I chose from Lucky could easily be mixed and matched with anything from the more streetwear side of my wardrobe.

For my first look I chose a pair of amazing black skinny-legged jeans with suspenders, and paired it with a classic denim button-down top. I love denim button-downs because they really are so timeless and everlasting. You can button it all the way up for a more boyish daytime look, or unbutton the top four buttons for a more sexy off-the-shoulder look, which I’m absolutely loving right now. I wore my most current favorite sneakers with the look for comfort and a little edginess. This is a look that is great for more formal meetings or outings.

There’s something about the sun and having it be a daily part of my life that motivates me. For my second look, I chose a good outfit for errands or meetings in the sun. This outfit feels so French to me and classic, but updated. I love the red accessories because it puts a little pop in the entire look paired with my simple gold accents and natural makeup. My necklace is so special to me because it was given to me from my French-Tunisian friend for my 30th birthday, and the charm by my ex-boyfriend during our visit to one of my favorite historical cathedrals in Paris. I normally do not wear heels but I thought these wedges were really cute. Lucky has a lot of easy-to-wear-and-walk-in heel options. I paired them with a pair of athletic socks because I don’t really love sandals or exposing my feet (laughs)! These shoes are soooo comfortable!

As a self-proclaimed tomboy who blossomed into my femininity late in life, I still (believe it or not) struggle with styling myself and looking and feeling sexy. I don’t particularly want to show my body all the time because I like baggier fits. So I search for items that have a bit of sexiness and comfort. For my third look, one that I think transitions well for day to night, meeting to dinner date, is a sexy black wide-legged, flared pant jumpsuit. Paired with a loose fitting army green military style jacket, perfect for L.A.’s fickle weather. I am super busy packing my weekdays out daily with usually one to three appointments when I’m in L.A., or “rendezvous’’ as we say in Paris. With the way L.A.’s traffic flows that’s normally the maximum amount of things you can do in one day. I love to be prepared for the entire day when I leave the house wearing minimal makeup, having a little tote bag for things I may need, like my planner or headphones, and also a jacket in case it gets a little chilly… well, L.A. chilly.

It took me a long time to appreciate L.A. for the good things vs. the bad. I have been spending a lot of time downtown and in Little Tokyo this trip, and found so many cool spots like bookstores and hidden gems. I travel a lot and discovering smaller tucked away parts of Los Angeles really feels like hopping on a plane and going to another city sometimes. Taking a walk alone, and just vibing out to my surroundings is something I really love in my designated solitude time.

Since music is such a part of my life and how I maneuver through this world, I made a playlist for you guys to vibe out to whilst driving or site seeing in Los Angeles, or any of your other favorite cities for that matter. L.A. is beautiful, and while there IS a lot of traffic, there’s nothing like rolling your windows down and driving in this beautiful city some of us are lucky to call “home."
